Tar Heel Tribute
Carolina is proud to have many members of the student body, faculty and staff who have courageously served or who are currently serving in the military. Their leadership and service to both the country and the University is truly remarkable. On November 10, 2016, we will host the third annual Tar Heel Tribute event to celebrate their many contributions.
The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Alumni Hall rooms of The Carolina Club located in the George Watts Hill Alumni Center. The program will include networking time at the start and end of the program, a complimentary lunch (served at noon), and guest speakers, including Imogene M. Jamison, former lieutenant colonel for the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps and current Associate General Counsel with the Department of Defense Education Activity, as well as other student and employee veteran speakers.
Student and employee veterans at Carolina are encouraged to:
- Submit your contact information below so that we can send you a formal invitation to the event.
- Submit photos of your time in service and/or a current photo of you in your role at UNC-Chapel Hill prior to the event to be displayed at the event, on department electronic boards, and on the veterans.unc.edu website in the future. The first 100 veterans who submit photos prior to the event will be given a first edition Carolina Veterans hat that they can pick up at the event.
Veterans are such an important and cherished part of the Carolina community. Tar Heel Tribute began in 2014 as a way to thank these veterans for their contributions. The celebration has grown every year, and the third annual Tar Heel Tribute is expected to be our biggest event yet.
Tar Heel Tribute is sponsored by the Office of the Dean of Students and the Division of Workforce Strategy, Equity, and Engagement, including Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, the Equal Opportunity and Compliance Office, and the Office of Human Resources.
Submit your contact information or the information of a student or employee veteran who may be interested in attending the event. Once we receive the contact information, we will send a formal invitation by email that will allow you to RSVP for the event. Seating is limited to 225 people.
